Liturgy Environment
Today, the fourth Sunday of Lent, Laetare Sunday, is designated by the first words of the Latin
Entrance Antiphon: "Rejoice, Jerusalem!" In mid-Lent, we pause to revel in the ultimate victory to be won. Our music is joyful; vesture is festive, too. Rose vestments replace violet. We adorn our sanctuary with flowers. The desert blooms with the hope of spring and new life reminding us of the new life in Jesus Christ we will soon encounter by His glorious Resurrection. We are not a people of
darkness but rather a people of light. We come to Christ our Light with the hope that all our works may clearly be seen as don in God.
